Ariella Melendez and Jaden Sullivan
April 21 - 15, 2025
Artist reception: April 25th
Event hours: 5pm - 8pm
The Fine Arts Department of Ringling College of Art + Design is pleased to present Chronically Fragmented at Savage Gallery.
Featuring new work by Ariella Melendez and Jaden Sullivan, Chronically Fragmented explores the complex relationship between humanity and technology. Incorporating references to community-oriented digital spaces like Second Life and the themes of magical realism, Melendez and Sullivan examine both the positive impacts of virtual communities and the importance of humanity’s connection to the natural environment. Juxtaposing Melendez’s figurative oil paintings with Sullivan’s multi-media sculpture and videos, Chronically Fragmented invites viewers to reflect on the ways technology shape our perception of reality.
