March 6, 2026
Artist’s Reception: March 6th, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
The Fine Arts Department of Ringling College of Art and Design is pleased to present your connection is not private., a solo exhibition by Sarasota-based artist and Ringling College senior Jaden Sullivan. The exhibition will be at Savage Gallery at Studios North.
Sullivan’s work explores the evolving relationship between human behavior and technology in the midst of our contemporary digital age. With the blurred line between reality and technology being the place Sullivan finds themselves navigating, digital ethics are not incredibly concrete and are explored through traditional media, found-object sculpture, and video installations. Utilizing a multimedia approach fueled by internet pop culture and user generated content, Sullivan invites viewers in an unconventional stance surrounding technologies suffocating hold on humanity’s daily lives, and to reflect on their own relationship with digital systems.
This exhibition appropriates familiar visual languages of the digital realm and recontextualizes them within the gallery space. Screens function as both artifacts and interfaces, playing on the relationship between the user, the consumer, and the product, all while addressing themes of digital identity and questioning machine sentience. By reutilizing repurposed, outdated, and obsolete technology alongside other materials, Sullivan’s work confronts the increasing reliance on technologies that we simultaneously choose to distrust yet romanticize.
