[CC]: To Control the Conduit
Jaden Sullivan, Keithlyn Steter Alves
April 6 - 10, 2026
Artist’s Reception: Friday, April 10, 2026
The Fine Arts Department of Ringling College of Art & Design is pleased to present [CC]: To Control the Conduit at Crossley Gallery.
The body as a conduit: this exhibition explores what it means to be consumed, conducted, and controlled within systems that blur the line between flesh and interface. Identity is not owned, but shaped, processed, and observed.
Working across sculpture, installation, and time-based media, Keithlyn Steter Alves examines the body as both object and offering, finding it in the space within cycles of consumption and control. Drawing from material processes that mimic flesh and decay, her work reflects on the commodification of the human body and the illusion of care within systems of domination.
In parallel, Jaden Sullivan addresses human behavior in relation to technology, questioning how emerging systems and their unclear ethics reshape our perception, agency, and autonomy. Their work identifies the invisible infrastructures that govern our interactions with automation and machinery, revealing the extent to which control has become normalized and embedded within life.
Visitors are invited to the Artists’ Reception on April 10 to meet the artists and learn more about the inspiration and process behind [CC]: To Control the Conduit. Food and drinks will be provided!
