Summer's End

October 29th – November 12th, 2021

RECEPTION: Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4:30pm - 7:30pm

The Fine Arts Department of Ringling College of Art and Design is pleased to present the Summer’s End exhibition. The exhibition is a collection of works referencing the origin of Halloween traditions, inspired by the celebratory Pagan religious festival called Samhain (translated as “Summer’s End”). It represented both death and rebirth, marked the end of the harvest season, and symbolized confidence in preparation for winter. The concept is depicted in the works through the exploration of new beginnings through experimentation, personal growth, and the rejoining of campus after quarantine.
