Roof Over Your Head

The Fine Arts Department of Ringling College of Art and Design is pleased to present the Roof Over Your Head exhibition. The exhibition is a collection of works referencing National Roof Over Your Head Day, which is December 3rd. The day is aimed to spread homelessness awareness and to appreciate the things we take for granted in life, such as the roofs over our heads. It stands to remind us that not everyone has a house or vehicle and that each individual may have a different version of what a “home“ is. The collection of works in the Roof Over Your Head exhibition deals with concepts ranging from the literal and conceptual depiction of loved ones and pets, the idea of outgrowing one home and moving into another, and the psychological effects that come along with the pressures associated with displacement.
